aw man!! I’m confused! I’ve just contacted iD live chat and I’ve been told I will be charged, 30p per text. This seems odd however because no other companies do! I’m going to ring up and see if that helps. Thank you so much though! And I will get back with what they say. So ive spoken to iD again and I’ve been told I will be charged, but not above my capped limit. my cap is set at £1, and with a text being 30p per text I should’ve gone over this by now. So again doesn’t make sense. The iD Facebook page has told me the same as above, that because it’s inclusive of a UK sim number it just comes out of my allowance. ARghhh

Hi @Jjjjjjessssica , @Hikari If you text abroad from the UK, this is classed as ‘International’ usage and is chargeable (That includes if you text a UK number in one of our Inclusive Roaming countries). Whereas If you’re abroad and using your phone, that’s classed as ‘Roaming’. The international charges for contacting Spain from the UK are below: 
Alternatively, if your friend is on a mobile UK network, they may be able to use their data allowance in Spain without being charged roaming rates(check with them first), but if so, you might be able to use messaging apps that use data only, such as WhatsApp, That way you can both just use your allowances to contact each other, and if you’re connected to Wi-Fi, you won’t use any of your data 🙂. Hi @Jjjjjjessssica There a little confusion here. I am in contact with @Nikhil P to clarify your situation. In theory you should only be charged international charges when you text foreign mobile number but UK number should come out of your allowance, at least this is what I knew and experienced for past 15 years in mobile technology.
ID Mobile may see that differently and charge texting UK numbers abroad as international numbers which would be first provider to do so in my experience. I am waiting for clarification myself and will update you as soon as I can.

What network does Three use in Spain?
Three don’t have their own network in Spain so your phone will log into one of the Spanish ones. They’re all good all along the coast so nothing to worry about. I’ve had the odd problem up in the hills with a poor signal but that’s all. Yes me as well, it connects to Movistar and everything free on my package.

From 23 May 2022, customers who have taken out a new or upgraded contract after 1 October will have to pay £2 a day to use their monthly allowance of minutes, texts and data in the EU. It follows similar announcements from EE and Vodafone earlier this year.
The move effectively ends Three’s long-standing roaming feature, branded “Go Roam”, which allowed customers to use their contract allowances in 71 countries, including distant locations such as the USA, Hong Kong and Australia.
“This is a huge blow to Three customers,” said Paolo Pescatore, a telecoms analyst at PP Foresight. “Free roaming to so many destinations helped lure and retain users. Now this is no longer a differentiator, it will be hard for Three to stand out in an increasingly crowded and cut-throat market,” he warned.
In a statement, Three said: “The new charge ensures that customers are clear on what they will pay when using their phone in another country and only those who roam will pay for the service. “It will also ensure that we can continue investing in our UK network.
” The change does not affect roaming to Ireland or in the Isle of Man. Mobile operators have also said they are under pressure from rising costs, including wholesale costs which can be much higher for UK networks. Under EU rules, citizens could use their contract’s minutes, texts, and data while roaming in the EU.

- UK law does, however, cap roaming charges at £45 per month, unless the user explicitly decides to spend more;
- All major UK operators had previously said they had no plans to reintroduce roaming fees in Europe;
EE was the first to break ranks and announce that it would do so, followed by Vodafone. O2 said there is currently no change in its stated position – that it has no plans to change roaming fees. In a statement, Sky Mobile said: “Customers will not be charged roaming charges in EU countries and will be able to continue to use their data, call and text allowances as they do in the UK.
