- Amy J Madison, CT 60 contributions Gorgeous, wide, empty beach with sand like talcum powder, lots of interesting shells and few people. Be ready to hoof it- the distance to the water from the pedestrian access is a couple hundred yards through dunes and it can be WINDY. Yes, ride your bike or drive and park in small lot at Coast Guard Rd and walk the rest (1/2 mile or so). It will lift your spirits and give you a healthy dose of Mother Nature’s best medicines- sun, water and air.

- My daughters (8 and 11) and I had a great visit! We went in the later hours when it is discounted and to avoid some sun. Multiple water slides/ tubes. Clean. - We use this ramp regularly. It can be a bit tricky getting out to the ICW from there for Newbies, I’ve seen and known people to run aground, especially at low tide and it’s on a narrow canal, so not the best for larger boats. Good parking and ramps are well designed though, with floating docks.

- Walking trails are good for everyone and not hard. Suggest bug spray when using trails. Trails lead to a dock to put kayaks into the water. Can fish from dock , nice way to sped a few hours. - My daughter played tennis there several times while on vacation. There are two courts both in good condition. You pay 2-3$ to rent for a hour. Fill out the book on the table and slip money on a box. There is also slides and swings for younger kids. Basketball court and bathroom facilities. - HdY Rayland, OH 23 contributions Excellent service from the Matthew, Cis, and Madison at Hwy58 bikes! Like many people, I packed last minute and brought our bikes, not realizing my wife’s bike needed adjusting, an old bike needed a new tire, and my air pump was missing some pieces. I brought all three to the shop late Sunday, and they had me back on the road in minutes! These are the kind of people who make visiting new places enjoyable – who make vacations complete. Thank you! PS I revisited the shop a day later, and they helped tune my bike (gear shift a little off) and helped me with my bike rack.

- Carly and team provided great service and customer support as per usual. Third year in a row renting from Hwy 58 and we’ll utilize them again next vacation! Thanks also for the quick ad-hoc service provided on my kids bikes which we didn’t even rent from them this year! That’s top-notch service and says a lot about caring for the community.

- Ron B Chapel Hill, NC 29 contributions This October, we decided to rent the same unit at Grand Villas we stayed at before. In 2016 we dodged hurricane Matthew, but this years hurricane spoiled our trip and damaged the Villas to an extent they were uninhabitable and would remain so for the balance of the year. Emerald Isle realty called and advised us to file an insurance claim.

The insurance company took over 45 days to process our claim. The amount they paid, however, was less than the full rental payment we made. Before I had a chance to call Emerald Isle to complain about the amount paid back to us, an Emerald Isle agent called and told me she would pursue the full amount with the insurance company.
- Within a couple of days, she called back to tell me the insurance company would send a check for the unpaid balance, which they did;
- Lessons learned! Always purchase rental insurance, and rent with Emerald Isle realty;

- Absolutely amazing massages received by Christina for both myself and husband! Also yoga classes with AnnMarie and Heide always leave me feeling rejuvenated and balanced! - We had a great time trying this sport/activity. We were a couple and a teenage son attempting this for the first time. Ricky was great-super easy and laid back. There was a Coast Guard check point where we launched and Ricky had everything they asked for. He knows his stuff! We put in and my son and I had no time getting up.
- My husband, a larger man, had trouble standing;
- He fell a few times a decided to finish the trip on his knees;
- He still enjoyed his experience immensely;
- Our trip was only an hour and a half thanks to Hurricane Jose who was blowing us through the sound;

- We certainly had a fun time playing mini-golf here at this course. It is very family-friendly and the course itself very intelligently arranged. The price per person (unless you are under 6 years old, I believe) is $10 a person, which I would say is reasonable. You receive a scorecard and choose a club (they have different sizes depending on your height), and then you begin the eighteen-hole course.

- Some of the holes were very fun! There was also a nice variety between them which was nice because it didn’t feel like anything was too redundant;
- Music (mostly classic rock) plays in the background as you play;
The course is a circular setup so you can finish where you started, which is nice. There are also many fun obstacles such as water hazards and gaps or objects you need to hit the ball over! A relatively creative course, I would say. Lasted just under an hour to do all eighteen holes.
