A trip to Spain before the kids go back to school is still a hope for parents in Britain. But what a lot of families will be concerned about is what the covid rates are in the holiday hotspot. Spain has remained on the amber list for the whole of the summer.

But Spain’s high rates of Covid meant it narrowly avoided going on to the red list at the last travel review. The good news is the rate is decreasing. The number of new cases has fallen by around 9,400 a week over the last three weeks. But there are still an average of 17,826 new cases reported each day, which is 49 per cent of the peak in the country in January.

When is the next Green List review for the UK?

The Government has said reviews take place every three weeks, which means the next is expected to be on or around Thursday, June 24. However, there has been no confirmation of this date. Brits will be hoping for more holiday destinations to be added to the green list, ahead of the July summer holiday peak.
